How It Works

FFT analysis converts the spectral interference pattern to the frequency domain, where peaks correspond to optical thickness values. This enables rapid thickness estimation without iterative fitting.

Thickness Formula

d = (f_peak) / (2n)
where f_peak is the dominant frequency and n is the film refractive index.
